Responsibilities
- Act as a subject matter expert on intricate U.S. and cross-border tax issues, including inbound and outbound structuring, international reorganizations, M&A transactions, and global investment frameworks.
- Guide clients on international tax rules such as GILTI, Subpart F, FDII/FDDEI, foreign tax credits, PFIC regulations, withholding obligations, FATCA, FIRPTA, and transfer pricing policies.
- Create and execute tax-advantaged structures using partnerships, corporations, trusts, tax-exempt organizations, hybrid vehicles, and multinational corporate groups.
- Lead tax planning for ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, covering pre-immigration strategies, international estate and trust planning, private placement life insurance, charitable remainder trusts, and wealth transfer techniques.
- Deliver advanced partnership tax advice, including allocations under Sections 704(b) and 704(c), disguised sales, targeted capital arrangements, interest deductibility planning, and aggregation elections.
- Support private equity, hedge funds, venture capital, and financial services clients with domestic and offshore fund formation, parallel structures, qualified opportunity zones, crypto asset investments, and layered fund architectures.
- Address ASC 740 compliance, tax accounting for transactions, and tax provision challenges for public and privately held companies.
- Oversee technically complex U.S. and international tax filings for individuals and entities, ensuring precision and risk mitigation.
- Lead voluntary disclosure initiatives, streamlined filing procedures (domestic and offshore), penalty relief efforts, and IRS dispute resolutions.
- Draft and review private letter ruling submissions and technical analyses on emerging or high-complexity tax matters.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to key clients, delivering holistic tax solutions aligned with their business and investment goals.
- Manage and expand a significant client portfolio, including acquiring new relationships and deepening service offerings with existing clients.
- Work with audit, accounting, and legal teams to support multidisciplinary client service and growth.
- Drive the expansion of the firm’s international tax and financial services tax capabilities.
- Develop forward-thinking tax strategies and new service lines in response to changes in tax legislation and regulations.
- Coach and develop senior tax professionals to enhance technical proficiency and career progression.
- Support firm-wide thought leadership through internal training sessions, client seminars, and publication of technical content.
