Responsibilities
- Review customer request documents for completeness and technical clarity
- Translate engineering specifications into actionable quoting data
- Collaborate with engineering teams to assess feasibility of custom designs
- Generate detailed cost estimates for mechanical components and systems
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of manufacturing capabilities and constraints
- Use internal software tools to structure and submit formal quotations
- Ensure compliance with technical standards and regulatory requirements
- Respond to customer follow-up questions on quote details
- Track quoting progress and meet defined turnaround timelines
- Identify risks in proposed designs and suggest alternatives
- Coordinate with procurement for material pricing and availability
- Support sales team with technical clarifications during negotiations
- Document assumptions and engineering decisions within quote packages
- Maintain version control of quotation documents
- Participate in continuous improvement of quoting processes
- Assist in training new team members on quoting protocols
- Monitor market trends affecting component costs
- Apply standard formulas and tolerances to design interpretations
- Validate dimensional and performance criteria against internal benchmarks
- Communicate lead times and production constraints to stakeholders
