About the Role
The Technical Operations Engineer will maintain, monitor, and optimize complex systems to ensure reliability, scalability, and security. This position requires hands-on technical expertise and collaboration with engineering teams to resolve issues and improve system performance.
Responsibilities
- Monitor system health and respond to alerts promptly
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software failures
- Maintain secure and compliant operational environments
- Support deployment of new features and system updates
- Collaborate with engineering teams on incident response
- Document operational procedures and configurations
- Ensure high availability and performance of critical infrastructure
- Troubleshoot network, compute, and storage issues
- Implement automation for routine operational tasks
- Enforce security best practices across systems
- Manage access controls and identity systems
- Respond to security incidents and conduct post-mortems
- Optimize system configurations for efficiency
- Participate in on-call rotations
- Work with third-party vendors and support teams
- Track and report on system uptime and reliability
- Assist in capacity planning and resource forecasting
- Ensure backups and disaster recovery processes are functional
- Maintain accurate system inventory and asset records
- Support compliance audits and documentation
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting real-time or safety-critical systems
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized environments
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools
- Security clearance or ability to obtain one
- Background in defense or aerospace technology
- Advanced degree in a technical discipline
