Flinders University is hiring a Technical Officer to provide essential support for Nursing & Health Sciences students at our Renmark campus. This role is an excellent opportunity for a registered nurse or midwife passionate about education, working within a modern clinical skills simulation lab to deliver practical workshops. You will work alongside another team member to ensure the lab environment is optimally prepared and supports teaching through technical advice and hands-on guidance.
What You'll Do
- Prepare the clinical skills simulation lab according to specific course needs.
- Support teaching by providing technical advice, equipment demonstrations, and procedural guidance.
- Maintain equipment and manage stock control.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety policies.
- Liaise with the Senior Manager, Healthcare Simulation, and the broader team.
- Step in for the Team Leader or Laboratory Manager when required.
- Train staff on simulation equipment.
- Resolve IT and AV issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of simulation software, licences, and equipment updates to ensure optimal functionality.
What We're Looking For
- Eligibility for registration as a registered nurse or midwife with AHPRA and a current practicing certificate, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation, including management of hazardous substances.
- A high level of attention to detail and organisational skills, with a willingness to work flexibly.
- Previous experience in a hospital or teaching laboratory environment.
Team & Environment
You will work alongside another team member, liaising closely with the Senior Manager, Healthcare Simulation, and the broader team to ensure seamless lab operations.

- Salary range: $82,657 - $91,222 p.a. pro rata.
