Shape the future of decentralized technology by leading the development of fully peer-to-peer applications across desktop and mobile platforms. In this role, you'll define technical strategy, mentor engineers, and serve as the key technical contact between your team and the core developers of the Holepunch stack.
What You’ll Do
- Act as the primary technical bridge between internal teams and the creators of the Holepunch ecosystem.
- Turn product goals into robust, modular architectures that leverage Hypercore, Hyperdrive, and Hyperswarm.
- Lead design and implementation of high-performance applications in Electron and React Native with zero reliance on central infrastructure.
- Drive knowledge transfer through regular technical syncs and documentation alignment.
- Design intuitive, cross-platform user experiences for messaging, file sharing, video calls, and collaborative workflows.
- Contribute feedback and improvements back to open-source components and support external developers building on the platform.
- Ensure strong security practices through end-to-end encryption and reliable local-first data models.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience shipping production apps using React Native and Electron.
- Deep familiarity with Node.js, modern JavaScript/TypeScript, and npm ecosystems.
- Solid background in local-first data design, including conflict resolution, event sourcing, and offline-first behavior.
- Hands-on expertise with peer-to-peer networking, asynchronous programming, and data synchronization.
- Experience leading small engineering teams and coordinating across distributed, remote groups.
- Strong Git and CI/CD practices, with a collaborative approach to code reviews and testing.
- Comfort deploying apps to mobile, desktop, and browser stores.
