General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is hiring a Technical Editor/Writer to provide writing and editorial support for a government agency’s program operation, monitoring, compliance, and reporting activities. You will author and disseminate content related to policy statements, guidance, and memoranda, ensuring all communications meet rigorous quality and accessibility standards.
What You'll Do
- Draft and review content including reports, memoranda, presentations, webpages, and news items.
- Develop monitoring and compliance-oriented reports, ensuring they conform to agency standards for quality, format, and style.
- Assess the accuracy of written materials by staying current on relevant government programs and verifying source citations.
- Assist with disseminating information using a variety of online platforms.
- Ensure digital communication products adhere to all applicable federal policies, including Section 508 and the Plain Language Act.
- Review and remediate written content to meet accessibility standards.
- Recommend appropriate formatting and platforms for information dissemination based on target audiences.
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders on the development and refinement of written materials.
- Support assignments requiring both technical and creative writing efforts.
- Manage multiple writing and review assignments concurrently, ensuring timely completion.
- Participate in meetings as required and assist with additional duties.
What We're Looking For
- BA/BS degree in a related discipline.
- At least 6 years of writing and editing experience.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and Adobe tools.
- Experience adhering to 508 accessibility and Plain Language requirements.
- Strong technical acumen and research skills.
- Project management skills.
- Experience in print and/or web publishing.
- Existing MBI T2 Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with refugee, immigrant, or underserved populations.

- Compensation range: $81,349 - $95,450
