Series Entertainment is hiring a Technical Director to lead the technical vision and execution for our mobile game startup. You will step into a critical leadership role, architecting and scaling our platform's systems while building and growing the engineering organization.
What You'll Do
- Design and scale the systems that power our platform across client, backend, and AI integrations.
- Hire, manage, and mentor senior engineering leaders; shape a team culture that delivers fast without sacrificing quality.
- Own the technical strategy and represent engineering in executive planning.
- Use engineering expertise to shape product, operations, and business decisions that drive growth.
- Set the bar for quality, scalability, and speed to ensure we move fast and build right.
What We're Looking For
- Prior experience as a technical leader in a startup or small studio environment.
- Hands-on expertise in modern mobile web game engines (H5 or similar) and/or full-stack web/mobile architecture.
- Strong systems thinking and comfort building for rapid prototyping, live operations, and multiplayer or social experiences.
- Experience with and deep curiosity around AI/ML integrations in gameplay or tooling.
- Strong people and project leadership skills to keep teams aligned, motivated, and producing.
- A strong communicator who can influence at the executive level and earn trust across technical and non-technical teams.
- Comfortable leading through ambiguity and helping teams make smart tradeoffs early in product development.
- Hands on when needed, but not a bottleneck; knows when to dive in and when to delegate.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in or leading mobile, social, or UGC-based games or platforms.
- Exposure to generative AI tools, LLMs, or creative AI workflows.
- You’re a player yourself and stay curious about the future of games.
