Allegheny Health Network is hiring a Part-Time Tech Multi Test / Teamsters JH for Jefferson Hospital. You'll join a team dedicated to providing high-quality patient care through accurate specimen collection and diagnostic testing. Your primary focus will be performing phlebotomy, assisting patients, and ensuring proper handling of laboratory specimens.

What You'll Do

Perform EKG testing, venipunctures, fingersticks, heelsticks, and point-of-care creatinine and RBG tests.
Instruct and assist patients with the collection of non-blood specimens.
Obtain specimens for designated types of cultures.
Label specimens, complete requisitions, and package specimens according to established procedures.
Utilize the pneumatic tube system to transport specimens and paperwork.
Communicate with in-house and non-staff physicians via telephone to verify test orders and accept verbal orders.
Communicate with registration and outpatient surgery areas to verify patient demographic information.
Use the laboratory information system to place orders, update order status, and enter results for a limited number of tests.
Perform basic diagnostic laboratory tests on selected STAT orders.
Maintain daily log sheets and compile weekly and monthly statistics.
Order and maintain sufficient levels of supplies.
