ESF Centre is hiring a Teacher of Biology for a full-time, two-year contract beginning August 2026, with potential for renewal. You will join our proactive and supportive educational community to deliver exceptional science education and foster student interest in STEM subjects.
What You'll Do
- Deliver engaging lessons in Science for students across various age groups, following the MYP, iGCSE, and IBDP curricula.
- Develop and implement coursework aligned with these programs, focusing on key concepts, practical applications, and scientific inquiry.
- Collaborate with the Head of Faculty and a team of 14 science teachers to develop innovative teaching units.
- Assess and evaluate student progress in line with program expectations, providing constructive feedback.
- Utilize inquiry-based learning strategies to enhance student understanding and engagement.
- Serve as a form tutor to a group of approximately 30 students, supporting their holistic development.
- Actively participate in extra-curricular events and activities.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, or a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology with PGCE, or equivalent.
- Experience teaching Biology up to and including Year 13 (IB Higher or equivalent).
- Strong commitment to inclusion and effective differentiation in teaching.
- Previous full-time teaching experience of at least two years.
Nice to Have
- Experience teaching practical laboratory work, experimental design, and data analysis in Biology, with an emphasis on inquiry-based learning.
- Familiarity with integrating technology in science education, including tools for virtual labs, data logging software, bioinformatics resources, or simulations.
- Experience with MYP, iGCSE, and IB curricula related to Biology.

You will join a collaborative Faculty of Science with a team of 14 science teachers, including Physics, ESS, and Chemistry, reporting to the Head of Faculty.
