CPCD is hiring a Teacher Assistant

About the Role

CPCD is seeking a Teacher Assistant Floater to join our team. In this role, you will assist the classroom team in maintaining safe, healthy, high-quality learning environments and experiences that advance the development of the whole child. This position begins March 16th, is scheduled for 40 hours per week, and offers both full-year and part-year options.

What You'll Do

  • Assist the classroom team in maintaining safe, healthy, high-quality learning experiences and environments.
  • Comply with all CPCD policies, Head Start Performance Standards, Colorado Department of Human Services licensing, and Colorado Quality Standards for Early Childhood Education Services.
  • Facilitate a balance of group and individualized experiences to promote school readiness skills.
  • Travel among classrooms and sites as directed by the CD Supervisor.

What We're Looking For

  • Access to reliable transportation to perform job functions, including travel to other locations during the workday, and maintenance of minimum liability insurance as determined by the State of Colorado.
  • A CDA or the Early Childhood Professional Level II credential through Colorado’s PDIS, or a plan to obtain one within two years of hire.
  • Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certification within 1 year of employment and maintain as required.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and manipulate up to 40 pounds.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment physical exam, TB test, drug test, and background check, as required by Head Start and Childcare Licensing.

Nice to Have

  • At least one year of successful work experience with children birth to age five.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish or other language relevant to the community served).
  • PDIS Level II - DQ (Director Qualification).

Team & Environment

This position reports to the CD Supervisor.

  • Compensation is structured on a step system based on education and credentials, ranging from $17.48 to $22.20 per hour.
