Bank of Montreal (BMO) is hiring a Tax Specialist for a Winter 2026 co-op/internship (4 months). You'll join BMO's campus program and support the Investment Operations function, providing service to business stakeholders and customers while ensuring compliance with controls and guidelines.
What You'll Do
- Provide support and service for the Investment Operations function of BMO’s business stakeholders and customers.
- Execute and deliver on Investment product and service processes, ensuring adherence with financial, regulatory, and operational controls.
- Communicate with internal business partners and external customers to respond to inquiries.
- Break down strategic problems, analyze data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
- Gather and format data into regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards.
- Support change management initiatives and the execution of strategic projects.
- Provide accurate and timely processing of transactions and activities in compliance with regulatory and risk controls.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve issues or escalate them as required.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on business objectives and fulfill service expectations.
- Support the continuous improvement of business processes and participate in the planning and testing of new or revised products and services.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of regulatory requirements and operational risks.
- Think creatively and propose new solutions.
What We're Looking For
- You are currently enrolled in an academic program and will be returning to studies after this co-op/internship.
- A strong desire to learn.
- In-depth knowledge and experience using relevant systems and technology.
- In-depth knowledge of the business unit’s key products, services, processes, and controls.
- In-depth knowledge of the risk and regulatory requirements of the business.
- In-depth PC skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Specialized knowledge from education and/or business experience.
