Responsibilities
- Manage and review the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns for: Individuals (Form 1040) Partnerships (Form 1065) S Corporations (Form 1120-S) C Corporations (Form 1120) Trusts and estates (Form 1041)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships
- Provide proactive tax planning and consulting to minimize client tax liabilities and support long-term financial goals
- Research complex tax issues and provide clear, actionable guidance
- Manage multiple client engagements and ensure timely delivery of services, especially during peak tax seasons
- Review and supervise the work of senior associates and staff; provide coaching, training, and performance feedback
- Assist partners with practice development, client onboarding, and retention strategies
- Handle IRS and state tax notices, audits, and correspondence
- Identify process improvements and help enhance firm efficiency and workflows
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA license required
- 5–8+ years of public accounting tax experience, preferably in a small or mid-sized firm
- Strong experience with a variety of tax return types and industries
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations
- Proficiency in tax software (e.g., UltraTax, ProSystem fx, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
