About the Role
The engineer will be responsible for translating client requirements into functional system designs, ensuring alignment with technical standards and project goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed system schematics and design documentation
- Collaborate with clients to define project requirements
- Perform site assessments to inform system integration plans
- Coordinate with installation teams during deployment phases
- Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards
- Revise technical plans based on field feedback or changes
- Support project managers with design timelines and deliverables
- Integrate control systems with mechanical and electrical components
- Conduct design reviews with internal stakeholders
- Produce bills of materials for proposed system configurations
- Troubleshoot design issues during implementation
- Maintain version control of engineering drawings
- Apply engineering principles to solve integration challenges
- Use CAD software to generate system layouts
- Assist in validating system performance post-installation
- Communicate technical details to non-technical team members
- Participate in cross-functional project meetings
- Document design decisions and configuration logic
- Evaluate new technologies for potential integration
- Ensure safety and code compliance in all designs
Nice to Have
- Experience in integrated building systems design
- Working knowledge of BIM or similar platforms
- Professional engineering license or EIT certification
- Background in low-voltage systems integration
- Prior work with cross-disciplinary engineering teams
- Familiarity with energy efficiency standards
- Experience using Revit or AutoCAD MEP
