About the Role
The System Administrator will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing IT systems that support critical operations. This role ensures system reliability, security, and performance through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and collaboration with technical teams.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain server environments to ensure high availability
- Install, configure, and support operating systems and related software
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in a timely manner
- Perform system backups and data recovery operations
- Apply security patches and enforce compliance with security policies
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls
- Support network infrastructure and connectivity requirements
- Collaborate with IT teams to resolve technical incidents
- Document system configurations and operational procedures
- Participate in on-call rotations for after-hours support
- Maintain inventory of IT assets and track changes
- Assist in the deployment of new systems and upgrades
- Ensure service level agreements are met for system performance
- Optimize system performance and resource utilization
- Implement and monitor system monitoring tools
- Respond to alerts and proactively address potential issues
- Support cloud-based infrastructure and services
- Work with vendors to resolve hardware or software problems
- Ensure systems comply with regulatory and audit requirements
- Assist in disaster recovery planning and testing
- Maintain secure and reliable remote access solutions
- Provide technical guidance to junior team members
- Enforce change management processes for system updates
- Support desktop and endpoint device configurations
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for IT services
