Responsibilities
- Design and implement technical solutions to meet internal project and operational demands.
- Deploy new servers or rebuild existing ones, configuring hardware, storage, peripherals, and system settings according to established standards and requirements.
- Create and update documentation for system installation and configuration processes.
- Assist in defining and upholding organizational system standards.
- Identify and propose innovative, potentially automated methods to improve system administration workflows.
- Conduct daily checks on system health, monitoring hardware status, resource utilization, critical processes, logs, and verifying successful completion of scheduled tasks such as backups.
- Carry out ongoing security surveillance to detect potential security breaches or unauthorized access.
- Manage daily backup routines, ensuring all essential data and file systems are securely backed up using appropriate media, with proper tape or disk handling and offsite storage when needed.
- Perform periodic data archiving and removal of outdated files to maintain system efficiency.
- Serve as escalation point for technical issues, analyzing and resolving problems reported from various teams or systems.
- Respond to hardware or software malfunctions with repair and recovery actions to minimize downtime.
- Complete additional duties as directed by management.
