Responsibilities
- Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network devices, and virtualization in all facilities systems
- Responsible for system security, software updates, and change control procedures
- Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance
- Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes per Computer System Validation SOPs and protocols
- Ensure that the IT environment is compliant to relevant regulatory and quality requirements.
- Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
- Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
- Lead helpdesk support efforts, making sure desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
- Provide support to colleagues in both Lexington and Fishers facilities
- Participate in internal audits and audits by external groups

Requirements
- Education Level – Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or closely related field, or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of experience supporting IT infrastructure
- Experience in implementing Controlled Change and Patch Management of GxP systems
- System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields
- Excellent computer, verbal, and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent (Hyper-V, IAAS Azure, AWS)
- Strong knowledge of cloud, systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols.
- Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g. PowerShell)
- A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans
- Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols including experience with Veeam backup Software
- Able to execute and report on IT led projects
