Eaton Corporation is looking for a Sustaining Engineer to manage critical designs and databases for data plates and labels across all plant products. In this role, you will develop digital processes through i4.0 automation, lead VAVE Cost Out initiatives, and apply the PROLaunch methodology to support assigned product families from development through manufacturing.
What You'll Do
- Create, modify, and troubleshoot national label databases for all products to ensure timely delivery.
- Develop and implement digital processes through i4.0 automation to streamline manual tasks.
- Correct weights and volumes in SAP for different product families to provide accurate logistics data.
- Meet the assigned annual VAVE savings goal by analyzing products for cost reduction opportunities.
- Manage requests to the engineering area (ESRs) to achieve the established annual goal.
- Provide support to the plates and labels area to prevent delivery delays due to material shortages.
- Promote a Safety culture to meet the annual goal of zero incidents.
- Create and maintain BOMs for standard products in SAP and configure new part numbers as required.
- Develop and update drawings and specifications using Solidworks or Autocad.
- Develop, review, and maintain standard work documents and procedures for Engineering.
- Prevent unauthorized product changes and document them with an Engineering Change Notice (ECN-SAP) when applicable.
- Coordinate with manufacturing engineering, production, quality, and planning for first sample and pilot lot evaluations.
- Generate zero non-conformities in quality audits for your assigned products.
- Work on special assignments from management, including administering indicators and providing training.
- Resolve product-related issues directly with the end customer.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures based on applicable management systems.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering, or a similar field.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in product design development and analysis.
- Experience in New Product Development, Innovation, and project management.
- Knowledge of product engineering and design (e.g., BOMs, Routes, Engineering Change Notices, Pilot Lots, Drawings).
- Design knowledge with Solidworks and Autocad.
- Knowledge of product audits and certifications.
- Knowledge of Quality and Manufacturing principles (e.g., Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, Lean, ISO14001, ISO9001).
- Broad knowledge of technologies or processes (e.g., Molding, Stamping, Assembly, Packaging).
- Experience with Microsoft platforms for digital development.
- Conversational English proficiency.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of ENOVIA and SAP ERPs in engineering modules and transactions.
- Experience with Project Management Tools (Agile, Scrum, etc.).
- Knowledge of standards like UL, CSA, Intertek, ANCE NEC & IEC.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Visual Basic, HTML, and SQL database management.
- Knowledge of Microsoft services (Power BI, Power Automate, Power App).
