Woolpert is hiring a Survey Project Manager

Responsibilities

  • Expand geospatial services for industrial and land development clients using digital twins, high-precision control networks, scan-to-BIM workflows, and infrastructure monitoring solutions.
  • Lead and mentor a team of professionals to deliver high-quality results on complex technical projects.
  • Utilize advanced geospatial tools to collect, process, and validate data for construction and monitoring applications.
  • Support business growth by engaging with private-sector industrial clients.
  • Serve as a technical and strategic advisor, developing customized geospatial solutions for client challenges.
  • Manage surveying and reality capture projects from start to finish, ensuring compliance with design, budget, and schedule requirements.
  • Coordinate daily with clients, contractors, and internal teams to align geospatial activities with project goals.
  • Compile and present technical data in reports and meetings, clearly conveying progress and findings to stakeholders.
  • Lead technical planning and resource allocation while guiding junior team members and promoting collaboration.
  • Review and oversee the production of survey calculations and point cloud deliverables to ensure quality and standards compliance.
  • Maintain safety certifications and enforce protocols, recommending improvements to enhance worksite safety.
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, including surveyors, subcontractors, and partners, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Act as the primary client contact, maintaining strong relationships and addressing concerns promptly.
  • Develop project scopes, proposals, budgets, schedules, and contracts to clearly define project expectations.
  • Monitor project financials, including billing accuracy, accounts receivable, and cost control to maximize profitability.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritizing tasks to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
  • Identify and resolve non-conformance issues by initiating corrective actions to improve project outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline
  • Minimum of eight years of relevant professional experience
  • Hands-on experience with surveying and reality capture equipment such as laser scanners, total stations, levels, GPS, and UAS, along with software including Trimble Business Center, Leica Cyclone, and TerraScan
  • Proficient in CAD and BIM platforms such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, and Navisworks
  • Collaborative mindset with a commitment to supporting junior staff in delivering accurate, on-time results within project constraints
  • Highly motivated with strong organizational and time management abilities in multidisciplinary environments
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including presentations
  • Capable of managing workload, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines consistently
  • Able to provide regular project updates to clients and leadership
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work effectively both independently and within teams
  • Willingness to travel across the U.S. to support major manufacturing initiatives

Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree is preferred
  • Field experience in industrial or construction settings with surveying or reality capture is highly valued
  • Professional Surveyor license is desirable but not mandatory
  • Prior experience in semiconductor or advanced manufacturing facilities is strongly preferred
