Ochsner Health is looking for a Surgical Technician to join our team. In this role, you will ensure the availability of equipment and supplies for endoscopy and surgical procedures. You will exhibit skills to competently scrub for surgical procedures and assist with endoscopy procedures, performing other duties as assigned by the RN, all within our culture of commitment to serve, heal, lead, educate, and innovate.
What You'll Do
- Perform direct patient care duties.
- Organize activities and supplies based on the surgery schedule and daily needs of the department.
- Competently care for and provide services to patients/customers in specific relation to their age and developmental stage with supervision of the staff nurse.
- Communicate information pertaining to patient care needs to patients, family members, and co-workers.
- Maintain required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training, and credentials.
- Adapt to rapid changes in the department caused by unit census, patient acuity, and resource availability.
What We're Looking For
- Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program or military program (Online surgical tech programs not accepted) OR 5 years of Surgical Technologist experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
Nice to Have
- 1 year of experience in a similar medical setting.
- Certification in surgical technology.
Work Mode
This role is fully onsite.
