About the Role
This role is responsible for managing the quality of parts sourced from external suppliers by identifying defects, leading corrective actions, and ensuring compliance with engineering and production requirements.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality metrics and delivery consistency
- Conduct audits at supplier facilities to verify compliance with quality systems
- Analyze non-conforming parts and lead root cause investigations
- Work with suppliers to implement corrective and preventive actions
- Support new product introductions by assessing supplier readiness
- Review inspection reports and test data from supplier-submitted samples
- Ensure supplier processes align with production and engineering specifications
- Monitor key performance indicators related to quality and delivery
- Coordinate with internal teams on quality issues affecting production
- Assist in supplier selection and qualification processes
- Develop and maintain documentation for quality requirements
- Track and report on supplier quality trends over time
- Perform on-site visits to suppliers for problem-solving
- Verify implementation of process improvements at supplier sites
- Support calibration and measurement system accuracy for supplier testing
- Enforce adherence to industry and internal quality standards
- Assist in risk assessments for new and existing suppliers
- Manage containment actions during quality escalations
- Review supplier corrective action reports for completeness
- Promote continuous improvement in supplier quality performance
- Collaborate with procurement on supplier performance feedback
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations in sourcing
- Support certification requirements for supplier quality systems
- Use data analysis tools to identify recurring quality issues
- Maintain records of supplier quality events and resolutions
