Airbus Americas, Inc. is looking for a Summer Intern - Business Improvement to join our Business Improvement & Supply Chain Team. This role offers hands-on experience in a dynamic operational environment where you will contribute to strategic projects aimed at improving efficiency, reducing costs, implementing AI solutions, and expanding business capabilities.
What You'll Do
- Assist fulfillment and logistics teams in mapping current warehouse processes and identifying opportunities for digital and physical efficiency improvements.
- Research innovative warehouse operations technologies like robotics and self-driving vehicles for pick, pack, storage, and transport.
- Work with IT and Operations teams on digital improvements, including reduction of manual steps through barcode scanning, RFID, and AI integration with SAP.
- Support business development by collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing operational data into actionable reports and presentations.
- Work closely with the warehouse team to understand daily operations and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Prepare research results in presentations, efficiency comparisons, and budget proposals.
What We're Looking For
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree at an accredited college or university.
- Ability to work in the US without current or future need for visa sponsorship.
- Capable of working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment both independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and accessible.
- Able to prioritize concurrent assignments with guidance.
- Capable of creating and delivering technical documents and presentations with guidance.
- Strong computer background, including MS Excel and Google Suite experience.
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interface effectively with all levels of personnel.
- Ability to effectively communicate issues, solutions, ideas, and status updates to the Lead.
- Advanced Microsoft Office / Google Workspace skills.
Nice to Have
- Already local to the Boca Raton/Miami, FL metro area.
- Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.
- Experience in process documentation or mapping from academic or extracurricular projects.
- Demonstrated data handling and analysis skills, including manipulating, validating, and presenting data.
- Previous independent or group project experience showing strong organizational, time management, and ownership skills.
- Experience researching state-of-the-art warehouse and supply chain solutions and innovative operational improvements.
- Experience in continuous improvement methodologies like Six Sigma.
- Familiarity with digital warehouse, supply chain, and AI tools.
- Knowledge of process mapping and documentation tools.
- Experience with project and task management software.
