About the Role
The role involves assisting with GIS-based environmental projects, including data collection, spatial analysis, and producing maps and reports to support project goals.
Responsibilities
- Support development and maintenance of geographic information systems databases
- Conduct spatial analysis to interpret environmental data
- Create detailed maps for project documentation and client deliverables
- Assist in collecting field data using GPS and other survey tools
- Verify accuracy and completeness of geospatial datasets
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate GIS outputs into environmental assessments
- Organize and manage large volumes of spatial and attribute data
- Perform data conversion between multiple formats and coordinate systems
- Assist in preparing technical reports with geospatial components
- Participate in quality assurance checks for mapping products
- Work with satellite imagery and aerial photography datasets
- Use GIS software to model environmental features and patterns
- Support project planning through location-based analysis
- Maintain version control and documentation for GIS projects
- Coordinate with team members on data sharing and integration
- Troubleshoot data inconsistencies and resolve technical issues
- Contribute to client-facing presentations involving maps and spatial findings
- Follow established protocols for data security and storage
- Assist in developing automated workflows for mapping tasks
- Engage in team meetings and project planning sessions
Compensation
Hourly wage commensurate with experience
