ICF is looking for a Substation Protection & Control Engineer to work on the design of relay and protection and control projects for high voltage substations ranging from 12kV to 500kV. Your work will be critical to providing excellent quality engineering for our electric utility clients.
What You'll Do
- Design and prepare Protection and Control Drawings including Protective Schemes, Substation Relay One Lines and Three Lines, AC/DC Schematics, and Substation Panel Layouts.
- Create Substation Wiring Diagrams, Cable Schedules, and SCADA and Communication Diagrams.
- Perform AC and DC Systems Calculations.
- Develop Equipment Specifications, Selection based on client criteria, and Bill of Materials.
- Coordinate with physical, settings, and drafting disciplines to ensure quality deliverables.
- Participate in client meetings and perform site visits for data gathering as required.
- Interpret and incorporate vendor information into design deliverables and apply client standards.
- Provide field support during construction.
- Perform and ensure company’s Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) processes are followed on all design packages.
- Continuously improve job-related engineering, technical, and professional knowledge, skills, and performance.
What We're Looking For
- BS in Engineering, preferably electrical or computer engineering.
- 3+ years of protection and controls experience.
- 3+ years of experience working with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
Nice to Have
- Engineering in Training license (EIT).
- Professional Engineer License (PE).
- Advanced user of Microsoft products, specifically Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of the practical application of industry standards such as: NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, blueprints, and drawings.
