Cushman & Wakefield is hiring a Strategic Labs Planner to provide essential occupancy planning expertise for San Francisco Bay Area Labs. You'll support long-term supply and demand planning, space analysis, and scenario development, coordinating with multiple internal and external partners.
What You'll Do
- Lead scenario planning and strategy, including analysis, stack planning, migration planning (identifying swing space needs and alternative solutions), block plans, allocation plans, and adjacency plans.
- Develop and present problem statements and business justifications.
- Create space and occupancy planning collateral.
- Analyze and identify trends in space allocation and usage for optimization opportunities.
- Support the development of Bay Area portfolio migration strategies.
- Manage initiatives and re-stacks spanning multiple Product Areas in coordination with the Occupancy Planning Team.
- Provide timing and scheduling input for cross-Product Area initiatives.
- Communicate with other vendor partners, including Delivery, Project Managers, and Facility Managers, for cross-PA-specific initiatives.
- Develop, maintain, and ensure usage of proper standards and templates used by the lab team.
- Create and maintain trackers, detailed schedules, and milestones for Lab initiatives.
- Conduct project initiatives meetings, including taking and sharing minutes, and tracking assigned deliverables.
- Ensure space planning activities comply with SLAs and client satisfaction targets.
- Create and deliver Lab planning proposals outlining option summaries, outcomes, benefits, and risks.
- Provide occupancy planning and coaching support for new team members as needed, covering programming, planning analysis and solution development (space plans, occupancy master plans, furniture/equipment lab layouts, test fits and block plans).
- Analyze audit data, and communicate actionable insights and opportunities for design and innovation.
- Apply knowledge of Building Codes for Planning.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- 5-7 years of related work experience in interior design, architecture, space planning, space strategy, data analytics, or project management required.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and CAFM systems.
- Proficient with Google Suite (Docs/Sheets/Slides) or Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
- Proficient in project scheduling software (MS Projects or Smartsheet).
- Intermediate spreadsheet skills, including use of formulas for data tracking.
- Proficient in Space Planning, Programming, and Occupancy Strategy.
- Experience in analytics.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical, research, and organizational skills.
- Ability to influence timely receipt of acceptable documents.
- Capable of performing in a fast paced environment with measurable results.
- Ability to quickly pivot on project deliverables.
- Takes accountability for work performed.
- Familiarity with local building codes, fire safety regulations and accessibility standards for planning.
Nice to Have
- Preferred major: Interior Design, Architecture and/or Data Analytics.
- General understanding of lab technical requirements is a plus.
