About the Role
This role involves preparing sterile medications under strict aseptic conditions while ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare intravenous and other sterile medications following aseptic techniques
- Verify compounding orders for accuracy and completeness
- Maintain compliance with USP <797> and other regulatory standards
- Perform routine cleaning and disinfection of cleanroom environments
- Document compounding activities in electronic systems
- Support quality assurance and audit readiness procedures
- Participate in staff training on sterile techniques
- Monitor environmental conditions in controlled areas
- Manage inventory of sterile supplies and raw materials
- Review batch records for accuracy and completeness
- Respond to internal quality control alerts
- Follow standard operating procedures for compounding workflows
- Dispose of hazardous waste according to safety protocols
- Collaborate with pharmacy technicians on workflow efficiency
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in sterile operations
- Ensure proper labeling of compounded sterile preparations
- Conduct media fill testing as required
- Participate in equipment calibration and maintenance
- Report deviations or non-conformances promptly
- Maintain current knowledge of sterile compounding standards
Nice to Have
- Experience in a centralized sterile compounding facility
- Previous work in a telehealth or digital health environment
- Additional certification in sterile compounding
- Experience with automated compounding devices
