NuScale Power, LLC was looking for a Startup and Commissioning Procedure Writer

NuScale Power is hiring a Startup & Commissioning Procedure Writer to support the NuScale Power Project. In this role, you will develop and coordinate administrative, testing, and operating procedures for a nuclear power plant, collaborating across departments and external organizations to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and enhance commissioning efficiency.

What You'll Do

  • Provide technical writing support to the NuScale Services business unit.
  • Design and develop new and revised plant procedures to support the commissioning and operation of the NuScale Power Project.
  • Prepare system turnover packages following project procedures, including the review of system testing documentation.
  • Interface with Subject Matter Experts as necessary during all phases of new or revised procedure development.
  • Review proposed procedure changes to ensure they accurately reflect new requirements and identify their impact on existing procedures.
  • Follow specific training and writer's guidance to ensure procedures format, order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology provide ease of use.
  • Prioritize daily tasks based on due dates and procedural timelines.
  • Ensure administrative and process implementation procedures comply with company standards, NRC regulations, INPO accreditation criteria, and other applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Use industry practices to develop high-quality procedures which minimize the risk of safety or human performance events.
  • Execute other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

What We're Looking For

  • A minimum of a B.S. degree in a technical field. Alternatively, 12 years total of directly applicable full-time nuclear plant experience (an additional 4 years beyond the standard 8-year equivalency) may be considered in lieu of the degree.

This is a hybrid position with opportunities based in Oregon, Texas, or Tennessee.
