Nubank is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to join our Investments Platforms team. In this role, you will spearhead the transformation from legacy systems to a global, scalable platform architecture for our Investments business. You will be responsible for architecting core engines and leading a significant cultural and technical revival.
What You'll Do
- Design and evolve core investment platforms such as Custody, Orders, and Offers to be asset-agnostic and globally extensible.
- Lead the construction of complex and innovative platforms to manage an Investments business at scale.
- Own the end-to-end technical lifecycle of high-impact projects, ensuring alignment with Nubank’s long-term business goals.
- Partner with Product, Design, and Operations to translate complex business requirements into elegant technical solutions.
What We're Looking For
- A proven track record of building and maintaining highly abstracted, extensible platforms in a high-growth environment.
- Deep experience designing distributed systems that handle high-concurrency and mission-critical financial flows.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams through periods of ambiguity, organizational change, or complex system migrations.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with brokerage systems, asset classes like equities or fixed income, or financial regulatory environments.
- Deep familiarity with AWS or similar cloud providers and modern CI/CD practices.
- Experience balancing the need for architectural purity with the necessity of delivering business value in a fast-paced setting.
