KOHO is hiring a Staff Software Developer - Credit to solve the most complex and ambiguous technical challenges in the Credit domain. Your mission is to dive deep into critical problems related to lending products like Credit Card, Credit Building, and Cover, contain and stabilize issues, and hand off robust solutions to owning teams, all while helping KOHO make financial services better for every Canadian.
What You'll Do
- Dive into ambiguous and difficult technical problems, investigating issues in loan management and collections systems.
- Design solutions for new credit product features and work to contain and stabilize critical issues.
- Develop initial proofs-of-concept to resolve immediate challenges in the credit technology stack.
- Hand off stabilized systems and foundational solutions, such as workflows for the credit card lifecycle, to owning teams for long-term implementation.
- Act as a force multiplier by unblocking teams, fixing intricate issues in brittle systems, and sharing deep technical knowledge across the Credit domain.
What We're Looking For
- A strong individual contributor who excels at solving complex problems with simple, effective solutions.
- Deep understanding of system architecture and technology stacks to diagnose and resolve issues in unfamiliar or brittle systems.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to hand off work cleanly and mentor other developers.
- Embrace AI-powered development workflows and have experience with tools like Claude Code or other AI coding assistants.
