Role Overview
As a full-time Staff Pharmacist, you are responsible for delivering high-quality patient care through precise medication dispensing, thorough counseling, and administering immunizations. You play a key role in maintaining pharmacy efficiency and supporting the Pharmacy Manager by stepping into leadership responsibilities when needed, including supervising team members and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure safe and accurate prescription processing by following established workflows and applying safety standards at all workstations
- Act as the primary pharmacist on duty, assuming managerial duties in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager
- Provide patient education and support, demonstrating empathy and proactive problem-solving for medication or insurance concerns
- Administer vaccines and guide pharmacy technicians in immunization practices to expand patient access
- Coach team members to deliver consistent, compassionate care and maintain strong performance
- Monitor inventory management, with special attention to temperature-sensitive medications
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and professional regulations, reporting issues promptly
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to support holistic patient care, including testing and prescribing services where permitted
- Maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge through required training and continuing education
- Adapt to changing schedules and operational demands while fostering an inclusive, safety-focused team culture
Qualifications
You must hold a current Pharmacist License and National Provider Identifier (NPI) for the state of practice and remain off the DEA Excluded Parties list. Strong attention to detail, mathematical reasoning, and communication skills are essential. The role requires physical stamina, including prolonged standing, lifting up to 20 pounds, reaching, bending, and fine motor control for dispensing tasks. You must also demonstrate active listening, problem-solving abilities, and adaptability in fast-paced environments.
Preferred Experience
- 1–2 years of experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings
- Willingness to work across different locations as business needs arise
Work Environment
This is an onsite position with variable scheduling, including nights and weekends. You will contribute to a team-oriented, safety-driven workplace that values accountability, precision, and patient-centered care.
