About the Role

Responsibilities
- Design and optimize optical systems for performance, manufacturability, and cost efficiency
- Develop detailed specifications for optical subsystems and components
- Perform optical modeling and simulation using industry-standard software tools
- Support prototyping and experimental validation of optical designs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers
- Lead tolerance analysis and sensitivity studies for optical assemblies
- Guide integration and alignment of optical systems in lab and production environments
- Troubleshoot optical performance issues across development and testing phases
- Create and maintain design documentation, test plans, and validation reports
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards and product requirements
- Evaluate new materials, coatings, and optical fabrication techniques
- Interface with external vendors and manufacturing partners on optical component sourcing
- Drive continuous improvement in optical design methodologies and workflows
- Support design for testability and manufacturability across optical subsystems
- Participate in design reviews and technical risk assessments
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on optical projects
- Stay current with advancements in optical engineering and related technologies
- Contribute to intellectual property development through patent disclosures
