Octave is hiring a Staff Mobile (Flutter) Engineer to join the Money team. In this role, you will build and enhance services for Bookkeeping, Cash Flow, Checking, and Charge Cards, with a key focus on delivering a seamless and intuitive mobile experience that serves as a primary customer touchpoint.
What You'll Do
- Create trustworthy and intuitive user experiences by building interfaces that are simple, easy to comprehend, performant, and reliable.
- Produce unit and end-to-end tests to improve code quality and maximize code coverage.
- Own and ideate on technical solutions for product requirements and user stories with minimal supervision.
- Communicate engineering concepts and efforts cross-functionally with product, marketing, operations, senior leaders, sales, business development, legal, and compliance.
- Own and drive high-level features from planning through implementation, solving complex technical and business problems.
- Work cross-functionally to understand product requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver solutions for innovative products.
- Deliver quality CI/CD for release and deployment of the application.
What We're Looking For
- A strong background working in and releasing a Flutter application to production.
- At least 2 years of professional experience with Flutter.
- At least 5+ years of professional experience as a software developer.
- You value writing tests as part of the development process.
- Experience with native mobile development (iOS or Android).
- Experience implementing native SDKs with Flutter.
- You have worked in a team environment and mentored other developers, or have a passion for mentorship.
- A strong understanding of the capabilities of critical third-party products, such as Firebase, Auth0, AWS, and Google Maps.
Nice to Have
- Experience with CI/CD; bonus if familiar with Gitlab CI.
