Geoengineers Inc is hiring a Staff Environmental Engineer/Scientist

About the Role

GeoEngineers Inc is hiring a Staff Environmental Engineer/Scientist to play a key role in environmental assessment and remediation projects. You will perform field investigations, manage data, and support project managers in delivering high-quality environmental solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Observe and document field explorations to collect environmental data (soil, sediment, groundwater, stormwater, wastewater, and vapor).
  • Perform oversight and documentation of construction activities including remedial excavation, system installation, operations and maintenance, and site restoration.
  • Manage fieldwork logistics, coordinate with analytical labs, and handle sample collection and chain of custody.
  • Communicate with team members, clients, regulators, and contractors to complete fieldwork.
  • Independently produce detailed field reports and logs (boring and test pit exploration logs).
  • Organize collected environmental data using spreadsheets or databases and compare results to regulatory standards.
  • Develop figures and tables to present data, collaborating with GIS and CAD teams.
  • Assist project managers in evaluating environmental data and performing engineering/scientific analysis.
  • Assist with the preparation of environmental permit applications and cleanup documents (technical memorandums, reports, design drawings).
  • Ensure timely and on-budget submission of project deliverables.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or geology.
  • 0 to 3 years of environmental consulting or related professional experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to organize accurate field data.
  • Ability to consistently meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Works well independently and collaboratively within project teams.
  • Strong verbal, written, and technical writing communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • One year of driving experience in the United States (international experience considered).
  • Ability to pass a background and reference check.
  • Participation in a medical surveillance program.
  • Ability to perform heavy work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Ability to work on a PC with prolonged sitting and screen viewing.
  • Ability to travel for short-term and long-term assignments.
  • Ability to complete periodic 10+ hour work days and occasional weekend work.
  • Commitment to conducting work in a safe manner.

Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree in environmental engineering or a related field.
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Geologist-In-Training (GIT) certification.
  • Completion of 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training.
  • Familiarity with environmental field investigation and oversight of cleanup construction.

Compensation ranges are: Staff Environmental Engineer: $73,000 - $99,000 annually. Staff Environmental Scientist: $63,000 - $85,000 annually.

This is an onsite position located in Seattle, WA or Redmond, WA.
