Role Overview
As a Staff Engineer specializing in ServiceNow, you will lead the design and implementation of enterprise solutions with a focus on Application Portfolio Management (APM), Customer Service Management (CSM), and HR Service Delivery (HRSD). You'll ensure technical strategies align with business objectives and ITIL best practices, while guiding teams through full lifecycle development and deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret business requirements and translate them into robust, scalable technical designs
- Define architecture patterns, development frameworks, and integration approaches for complex ServiceNow implementations
- Lead the creation and validation of work breakdown structures and effort estimates
- Oversee application development by coordinating schedules, technical tasks, and cross-functional inputs
- Conduct proof-of-concept activities to validate technology choices and design decisions
- Support user acceptance testing and production deployments with a focus on stability and performance
- Provide technical mentorship, set delivery expectations, and foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Resolve critical system issues and lead design and code reviews with actionable feedback
- Configure ServiceNow using scripting tools including Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, and UI Actions
- Integrate ServiceNow with external systems and ensure seamless data flow across platforms
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow development, with deep expertise in APM, CSM, and HRSD modules
- Proven track record in building integrations between ServiceNow and third-party applications
- Familiarity with additional modules such as ITOM or GRC, and strong foundation in ITIL principles
- ServiceNow SPM certification is required
- Proficiency in scripting languages including Jelly and Angular JS within the ServiceNow platform
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders, technical teams, and leadership
- Experience mentoring developers and ensuring high-quality, maintainable code delivery
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and guide teams through resolution
