About the Role

The State of Vermont is looking for a Staff Attorney IV to join the Enforcement & Litigation Section within the Agency of Natural Resources. In this role, you will serve as an Environmental Litigation Attorney, representing the Agency before the Superior Court's Environmental Division, in administrative enforcement actions, and in appeals.

What You'll Do

  • Represent the Agency in litigation before the Superior Court, Environmental Division.
  • Handle administrative enforcement actions.
  • Manage appeals of Agency decisions and Act 250 decisions.
  • Represent the Agency in proceedings before the Public Utility Commission reviewing energy-related projects.

What We're Looking For

  • Admission to practice law (Vermont bar membership in good standing or eligible for admission).
  • 8 or more years of relevant lawyer experience.

Nice to Have

  • Environmental law experience.
  • Civil or administrative litigation experience.

Team & Environment

You will be part of the Agency of Natural Resources' Enforcement & Litigation Section, reporting to John Zaikowski, Esq., the Enforcement & Litigation Section Chief.
