About the Role
The Staff Accountant will play a key role in preparing and reviewing SEC filings, ensuring adherence to accounting policies, and supporting internal controls and financial reporting processes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review quarterly and annual SEC filings including Forms 10-Q and 10-K
- Assist in the coordination of external audit requests and documentation
- Maintain compliance with GAAP and SEC regulatory requirements
- Support the development and implementation of internal accounting policies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data for disclosures
- Track and report on key financial metrics and performance indicators
- Perform monthly and quarterly close procedures with accuracy and timeliness
- Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and complex technical issues
- Contribute to process improvements in financial reporting and controls
- Assist in the evaluation of new accounting standards and their impact
- Ensure proper documentation and retention of financial records
- Participate in internal control assessments and SOX compliance activities
- Prepare supporting schedules and footnotes for financial statements
- Work closely with external auditors during audit cycles
- Monitor filing deadlines and regulatory updates from the SEC
- Support ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests
- Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of financial information
- Assist in the onboarding and training of new accounting team members
- Utilize accounting software and ERP systems for data entry and reporting
- Ensure consistency in financial reporting across departments
- Collaborate on special projects related to financial governance
- Provide input on accounting treatment for complex transactions
- Stay current with changes in accounting standards and regulations
- Support the preparation of earnings releases and investor materials
- Maintain a strong understanding of internal control frameworks
