The Staff Accountant, Revenue plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial reporting for a fast-growing digital health platform. You will manage core aspects of revenue accounting, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, particularly ASC 606, while supporting timely and accurate financial close cycles.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations for revenue, deferred revenue, refunds, and chargebacks.
- Lead transaction-level analysis to validate proper revenue recognition and alignment with accounting standards.
- Support the monthly close by delivering accurate revenue schedules, rollforwards, and supporting documentation.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies across systems, including merchant processors, data warehouse, and general ledger.
- Collaborate with Product and IT teams to enhance data accuracy and system integration reliability.
- Execute SOX-related controls with precision and contribute to audit readiness during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
- Analyze fluctuations in revenue trends and provide clear explanations for variances.
- Propose and support process improvements to increase efficiency, automation, and reporting quality.
Qualifications
Candidates should have at least two years of accounting experience, a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, and a solid foundation in month-end close procedures and reconciliation practices. Strong Excel proficiency and experience with ERP systems are essential. You must be detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset are required.
Preferred qualifications include experience in public accounting, progress toward a CPA, familiarity with ASC 606, and hands-on experience with NetSuite. A foundational understanding of U.S. GAAP is highly valued.
