EX Squared is hiring a Senior Underwriting Counsel to provide expert legal guidance on title insurance matters. This remote role requires a candidate who is licensed to practice law in the state of Maryland.
What You'll Do
- Analyze and underwrite complex title insurance risks for commercial and residential transactions.
- Provide legal opinions and counsel on title exceptions, survey matters, and property law issues.
- Review and interpret legal documents including deeds, mortgages, easements, and plats.
- Advise internal stakeholders and external clients on underwriting guidelines and risk mitigation strategies.
- Stay current on relevant state statutes, case law, and regulatory changes affecting title insurance.
What We're Looking For
- Active license to practice law in the state of Maryland.
- 5+ years of experience in title insurance underwriting or real estate law.
- Proven expertise in analyzing title commitments, surveys, and legal descriptions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex real estate transactions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client and team interactions.
Work Mode
This is a fully remote position. Candidates must be based in and legally authorized to work in Maryland.
