EX Squared is looking for a Lead Counsel specializing in Underwriting to provide strategic legal direction and ensure compliance for our underwriting operations. You will be the primary legal authority on underwriting matters.

What You'll Do

Provide expert legal counsel and risk assessment on all underwriting activities.
Draft, review, and negotiate complex underwriting agreements and related contracts.
Advise on regulatory compliance, ensuring underwriting practices adhere to applicable laws and standards.
Develop and implement internal policies and procedures for underwriting legal review.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on product development and risk strategy.

What We're Looking For

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active bar membership.
7+ years of relevant legal experience with a strong focus on underwriting, insurance, or financial services.
Proven expertise in drafting and negotiating underwriting agreements and managing regulatory compliance.
Exceptional analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage complex legal projects in a fast-paced environment.
