Scout Motors is looking for a Broadcast Engineer to maintain the technical equipment for our 24/7 news operation. You’ll balance immediate troubleshooting needs with ongoing projects, ensuring our broadcast systems remain reliable and up-to-date.
What You'll Do
- Support daily news operations, including all related equipment and computer-based IT systems.
- Install and maintain broadcast and IT equipment at studio facilities, transmitter sites, in remote broadcast vehicles, and at other locations.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, making repairs or implementing workarounds as necessary.
- Perform routine security updates and reboots of broadcast servers.
- Contribute to technical documentation that accurately represents installed equipment.
- Occasionally support field work on remote productions.
- Perform minor building-related maintenance tasks as needed.
What We're Looking For
- 0-1 years of experience in broadcast engineering or a related field.
- A current driver’s license and the ability to operate a news gathering vehicle to various locations.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- The ability to work efficiently without direct supervision.
- The ability to work well under pressure, take initiative, and collaborate with others.
- A solid understanding of current computer hardware, network technologies, and Microsoft’s Active Directory environment.
- The ability to plan technical projects and clearly communicate the status of problems, provide updates on progress, and offer solutions.
- The ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and be available on call.
- The ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work on elevated surfaces, pull and install wiring, use hand and power tools, and work on small components.
