EX Squared is hiring a Remote Senior Counsel - Underwriting to provide expert legal oversight and strategic advice on underwriting operations. You will be a key advisor, ensuring sound risk management and regulatory compliance for our underwriting activities.

What You'll Do

Provide comprehensive legal analysis and risk assessment for underwriting decisions.
Draft, review, and negotiate complex policy language and underwriting agreements.
Advise internal stakeholders on legal, regulatory, and compliance matters related to underwriting.
Develop and maintain underwriting guidelines, forms, and procedures to mitigate risk.
Monitor evolving laws and regulations affecting underwriting practices and implement required changes.

What We're Looking For

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active bar membership.
7+ years of relevant legal experience, with a strong focus on underwriting, insurance, or financial services.
Proven expertise in drafting and interpreting insurance policies, contracts, and related legal documents.
Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks governing underwriting and risk selection.
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
