About the Role

This position leads the development and integration of steering systems within vehicle programs, ensuring technical accuracy, performance, and alignment with overall vehicle objectives through collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the definition and development of steering system requirements for new vehicle programs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system-level integration and performance
  • Develop system architectures and interface specifications for steering components
  • Support design validation and testing processes across development phases
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards
  • Manage technical risks and resolve complex system-level issues
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure component design meets vehicle requirements
  • Participate in design reviews and technical evaluations
  • Drive the use of model-based systems engineering practices
  • Support production launch and ongoing manufacturing support activities
  • Maintain alignment with enterprise engineering standards and tools
  • Lead technical communication with global engineering teams
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for field issues
  • Ensure design for manufacturability, serviceability, and sustainability
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of systems engineering processes
  • Support digital transformation initiatives within engineering workflows
  • Ensure cybersecurity considerations are addressed in system design
  • Collaborate on software integration related to steering control modules
  • Support functional safety analysis and documentation
  • Work within agile and stage-gate development environments
  • Drive innovation in next-generation steering technologies
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote technical excellence
  • Ensure alignment with corporate sustainability and electrification goals
  • Participate in global program meetings and technical forums
  • Support vehicle-level calibration and tuning activities
