This position plays a central role in advancing research initiatives within a high-impact academic setting. The Senior Research Specialist oversees key aspects of the research lifecycle, ensuring scientific rigor, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency across interdisciplinary projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of training content aligned with adult learning principles, supporting distance education outcomes through effective use of a Learning Management System (LMS).
- Manage LMS vendor relationships, coordinate system enhancements, and troubleshoot technical issues in collaboration with support teams.
- Analyze data from internal and external sources to inform research strategies, financial planning, and administrative improvements.
- Support researchers with data processing, statistical analysis, programming, and modeling tasks on both scheduled and ad-hoc bases.
- Ensure adherence to institutional, state, and federal research regulations, providing guidance on compliance and best practices.
- Lead the development of new laboratory spaces, including equipment procurement, maintenance oversight, and operational setup.
- Collaborate on long-term research planning, introducing innovative methods and technologies to improve project outcomes.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures, project goals, and performance benchmarks.
- Contribute to cross-functional efforts that enhance research infrastructure and promote scientific collaboration.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least seven years of professional experience are required. An advanced degree is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate deep familiarity with research compliance frameworks, financial systems, and data analysis tools.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Excel, and financial platforms is essential. Strong organizational, communication, and project management abilities are critical for success. The ideal candidate can work independently while contributing effectively within diverse, multidisciplinary teams.

Compensation
The salary range for this contract position is $80,000 to $120,000 annually.
