Responsibilities
- Direct the creation of construction blueprints, contractual agreements, and technical summaries.
- Establish project parameters, develop cost estimates, oversee budgeting, and allocate resources to meet deadlines and financial targets.
- Monitor project timelines and issue monthly billing statements along with comprehensive progress updates for client review.
- Act as the primary liaison for clients, the FAA, and other critical stakeholders.
- Organize and facilitate meetings, draft agendas and timelines, and record decisions to maintain project momentum and alignment.
- Evaluate client-supplied materials such as as-built drawings and design analyses, and coordinate with subcontractors for surveying, geotechnical studies, and technical services.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local grant procedures and environmental compliance standards.
- Administer the bidding process by conducting pre-bid conferences, issuing amendments, and evaluating contractor submissions.
- Supervise change order management, perform construction site inspections, and verify adherence to quality benchmarks.
- Examine and authorize final engineering plans, compile cost summaries, and conduct closure inspections with regulatory bodies and sponsors to confirm project success.
- Guide multidisciplinary teams across all stages of project development.
- Strengthen client partnerships by identifying expansion opportunities during proposal and solicitation phases.
- Partner with leadership on client experience, risk mitigation, and financial outcomes while mentoring team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated project management experience in aviation and airfield design
- Proficient in AutoDesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and related engineering software
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
- Superior verbal and written communication abilities
- Solid analytical capabilities, including interpreting scientific, technical, and financial documentation
- Capable of addressing sensitive client concerns and managing relationships with regulatory entities and stakeholders
- Ability to remain seated for prolonged durations
- Occasional need to reach, bend, and carry up to 40 pounds
