Smalls is looking for a Sr. Procurement Manager – Raw Materials, Packaging & Merchandise to lead our strategic sourcing. You will be responsible for securing the high-quality, sustainable, and cost-effective materials that fuel our mission-driven company.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for all materials, ensuring alignment with goals for quality, sustainability, and cost.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers, running RFPs to optimize cost and value.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, monitoring performance and resolving issues promptly.
- Streamline Smalls' global supply chain, ensuring optimal procedures for freight and customs.
- Stay informed about global market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply chain risks.
- Conduct regular benchmarking and cost analysis, reporting performance and variation risks to Finance.
- Work closely with S&OP, R&D, Quality Assurance, Production, and Marketing teams to align with product timelines.
- Manage testing and execution of new materials in collaboration with Operations.
- Partner with Finance to manage budgets, forecasts, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Support new product development by sourcing innovative ingredients and packaging.
- Drive initiatives to source sustainable and ethically produced materials.
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years of experience leading procurement strategy and execution, ideally across complex or global categories.
- Deep understanding of global protein and meat markets, including pricing dynamics, seasonality, and supply risk.
- Understanding of global packaging and merchandise supply chains and the ability to manage complex procurement processes.
- Direct procurement experience with perishable products, including considerations around shelf life and food safety.
- Excel at building strong and strategic supplier relationships.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and are comfortable managing multiple competing priorities.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to clearly present RFP outcomes and cost analyses.
- Strong communicator who builds trust and influences decision-making across functions and levels.
