Job Summary: The Registered Staff Pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing prescribed pharmaceuticals and compounds while providing consultative services to clients and healthcare providers. This role ensures compliance with all laws and responsibilities set by the Provincial Regulatory Body and McKesson Canada. The Senior Manager, Pharmacy or Pharmacist Supervisor will serve as a successor role for Pharmacists. Section A – Specific Responsibilities: Specific Responsibilities generally include but are not limited to the following: • Accurately filling, verifying, and dispensing medications • Supervising pharmacy caseworkers, assistants, technicians, and other staff • Conducting patient counseling and follow-up for dispensed prescriptions • Ensuring accurate prescription pricing and established payment methods • Coordinating prescription delivery to appropriate sites per patient request and regulatory requirements • Delivering comprehensive customer service to patients, healthcare professionals, and industry partners • Managing prescription adaptations, renewals, and initiations according to Provincial College regulations • Providing medical information to patients and healthcare professionals • Adhering to established Standard Operating Procedures and regulatory requirements • Submitting Adverse Events (AE) and Product Quality Complaints (PQC) • Maintaining flexibility for overlapping shifts during pharmacy hours • Overseeing staff compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations • Upholding McKesson i2Care and iLead Principles aligned with the company's Code of Conduct • Prioritizing company policies and regulatory standards in all activities and decisions • Maintaining strict privacy requirements • Monitoring accounts receivable • Conducting temperature monitoring • Completing all required training • Performing other duties as assigned Section B – Key Requirements: Knowledge: • Bachelor or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree • Valid license in good standing with applicable College of Pharmacists • Professional Liability Insurance • Ability to identify and address drug therapy problems in specialty pharmacy settings • In-depth knowledge of specialty medications Skills and Abilities: • Comprehensive retail pharmacy practice knowledge • Understanding of biologics and specialty medications • High degree of self-direction and independence • Strong working knowledge of Kroll capabilities • Clinical expertise in major therapeutic areas • Exceptional communication and teamwork skills • Accountable and results-oriented • Proficient in MS Office Experiences: • Minimum one year full-time employment in hospital or retail pharmacy • Bilingualism (English/French) or multilingual proficiency preferred • Additional experience in clinical trials, medication reimbursement, or regulatory environments is beneficial • Experience working with cross-functional internal and external teams Section C – Supervision and Communication: Communication: PSP, Navigation, INVIVA clinics, Medical Clinics, Pharmacy, Patients, and drug plans Team Management Skills: • Handling unique medications and patient needs • Teamwork • Problem-solving • Interpersonal skills • Active listening • Teaching • Patient advocacy • Decision-making • Collaboration We are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson as part of our Total Rewards. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
