Cox Automotive is looking for a Senior Mobile Vehicle Inspector to join our Manheim Express team in Louisville, KY. You will be the primary point of contact for vehicle inspections in your designated region, responsible for the accurate and complete documentation of overall vehicle condition to support our marketplace operations.
What You'll Do
- Locate, start, move, inspect, and return vehicles safely on dealer lots.
- Conduct thorough vehicle condition assessments following the established inspection process.
- Verify vehicle identification and enter accurate information, including VIN, mileage, and sub-series, into the inspection system.
- Inspect vehicle equipment and options, documenting any damage, missing, or inoperable items.
- Inspect and record the exterior condition of vehicles, including tires, frame, glass, panels, and mechanical components.
- Inspect and record the interior condition of vehicles, including seats, dashboard, and options.
- Perform basic mechanical checks on powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical components.
- Collaborate closely with teammates, field sales, and customer care to create a superior customer experience.
- Utilize SalesForce.com for reporting, lead input, and customer performance reviews.
- Inform and educate dealers of changes in auction policies and procedures.
- Partner with clients at their locations to inspect vehicles and request additional inventory.
- Demonstrate a commitment to safety by following all procedures and modeling safe behaviors.
- Actively participate in safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of relevant experience.
- Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel locally 100% of the time.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong technical aptitude and a detail-oriented mindset.
- Motivation to work independently with remote supervision.
- Ability to multitask, follow directions, and take instruction.
- Ability to lift and hold at least 30 lbs. at waist level for an extended period.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.
- Frequently required to crouch, bend, and kneel to inspect vehicle sides and undersides.
- Strength to lift hoods and trunks, bend during audits, and reach inside or underneath vehicles.
- Near vision abilities required to identify dings, scratches, paint work, hail damage, frame/unibody issues, and interior damage.
- Able to identify exterior and interior colors and deal with varying lighting conditions.
- Physical ability and mental acuity to execute duties within required timeframes.
- Must clear a pre-employment drug test.
Nice to Have
- Extensive automotive knowledge.
- Two to three years of automotive-related experience.
- Experience navigating handheld and other documentation devices.
- Body, paint, and mechanical repair knowledge.
- Familiarity with unibody and full-frame construction.

Team & Environment
You will be a member of the Manheim Express team for a designated region, working closely with teammates and remote supervision to support our dealer clients.
Benefits & Compensation
- Hourly pay rate: $16.44 - $24.71/hour.
- Annual incentive/commission target of $6,000.00.
- Eligible for a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month.
