Role Overview
The Sr. Material Planner is responsible for maintaining a consistent and reliable supply of materials to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations and high customer service levels. Working within a single-site or low-complexity setting, this position plays a key role in balancing supply and demand, managing inventory health, and improving planning processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop short- and long-term supply plans that align with production and inventory requirements
- Lead coordination sessions with internal teams and external suppliers to assess forecast accuracy, order proposals, and supply chain risks
- Track material flow across procurement, warehousing, production, and distribution stages
- Establish optimal inventory targets and take action to avoid overstocking
- Address supply disruptions and resolve raw material shortages promptly
- Collaborate with on-site supply chain personnel to synchronize daily planning activities
- Drive improvements in material availability, inventory turnover, and reduction of obsolete stock
- Design and implement planning tools to enhance supply chain efficiency
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure on-time delivery, product quality, and contractual compliance
Qualifications
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field, along with 3–5 years of experience in operational planning or a comparable function. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, is essential. Strong analytical abilities, clear communication skills in English, and a commitment to continuous improvement are required. Familiarity with SAP, APO, and MRP systems is expected. The ideal candidate remains composed under pressure and takes ownership of outcomes.
