Hims & Hers is looking for a Sr. Manager, State Government Affairs for the Northeast Region. In this role, you will lead public policy initiatives, shape advocacy strategy, and drive legislative and regulatory outcomes to support the company's mission of redefining healthcare.
What You'll Do
- Lead public policy efforts in the Northeast region and directly engage and lobby executive branch officials, legislators, regulators, and other key stakeholders.
- Represent Hims & Hers in external meetings, public forums, hearings, and coalition discussions.
- Draft and deliver policy materials, including talking points, testimony, position letters, and one-pagers.
- Work closely with trade associations, coalitions, and regulatory boards and successfully advocate for the interests of Hims & Hers within those organizations.
- Coordinate and manage external consultants and lobbyists.
- Identify, monitor, and analyze legislation and regulation in the Northeast region affecting Hims & Hers business priorities, including pharmacy compounding, privacy, AI, and telehealth issues.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment between business priorities and public policy goals.
- Assist in building and evolving the company’s political giving strategy.
- Support or lead efforts to establish issue-specific coalitions or working groups related to Hims & Hers business.
- Identify opportunities for Hims & Hers to advance our advocacy in policy discussions, conferences, and task forces.
- Identify and execute on new ways to creatively advocate on behalf of Hims & Hers customers to better promote thought leadership in the region.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in state government affairs and public policy.
- Familiarity with pharmacy compounding, privacy, health AI, and telehealth policy issues.
- Deep understanding of political and regulatory processes in the Northeast U.S. states.
- Proven know-how and experience achieving results with state legislatures, governor’s offices, regulatory boards, and trade associations.
- Exceptional writing, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven, and highly collaborative environment.
- Willingness to travel as needed within the region and to national conferences and events (up to 30%).
Nice to Have
- Demonstrated experience working in New York State.
- A high political acumen, with experience implementing a political giving strategy a strong plus.
Team & Environment
