As the Senior Manager for Policy and Public Affairs, you will drive initiatives to improve access to advanced diabetes technologies, focusing primarily on the German-speaking markets. Your work will center on shaping a supportive policy landscape for next-generation insulin management solutions through strategic advocacy and stakeholder collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute public affairs strategies that align with evolving healthcare dynamics and organizational goals
- Track and assess changes in health policy, regulation, and political developments affecting diabetes care and medical technology
- Establish trusted relationships with government agencies, patient organizations, professional societies, and regulatory bodies
- Represent the organization in national and regional policy discussions, industry groups, and public forums
- Advocate for policies that promote innovation, equitable access, and sustainable reimbursement for digital health solutions
- Coordinate with internal teams including Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Commercial to ensure policy alignment
- Produce clear, evidence-based policy documents, briefing materials, and communication content
- Engage with institutions such as IQWiG, G-BA, and GKV to influence decision-making processes
- Identify and build coalitions to advance shared objectives in healthcare policy
- Ensure all advocacy activities comply with transparency and lobbying regulations
- Educate internal stakeholders on emerging policy trends and their strategic implications
- Support cross-functional efforts to strengthen product positioning and market acceptance
Qualifications
Successful candidates will hold a university degree in political science, public health, law, health economics, or a related discipline, and bring several years of experience in health policy or government relations—ideally within the medical technology or healthcare sector. Deep knowledge of the regulatory and reimbursement environments in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland is essential.
You must have strong communication skills, proven ability to influence decision-makers, and fluency in both German and English. Experience engaging with national policy bodies and a well-developed network in the healthcare policy space are highly valued. Familiarity with MS Office is required; basic data analysis skills in tools like SQL or R are an advantage.
