Hims & Hers is seeking a Senior Director of Product Design to lead design for a next-generation product pillar. This is a player-coach role combining strategic vision, systems thinking, and hands-on leadership to bring a new consumer experience to life from the ground up.
What You'll Do
- Own the design vision and outcomes for your product area, driving measurable impact on user experience, engagement, and business results.
- Lead and inspire a high-performing team of product designers and design leads, creating clarity and fostering ownership.
- Act as a player-coach, staying close to the work through design critiques, concept development, and critical projects.
- Drive cross-functional alignment with Product, Engineering, and other leaders to define priorities, problem spaces, and success metrics.
- Shape 0→1 experiences, leading your team in exploring, prototyping, and shipping entirely new product experiences.
- Partner with the VP of Product Design to hire and scale the team, identifying capability needs and attracting world-class talent.
- Contribute to design leadership across pillars, collaborating with fellow Senior Design Directors for a cohesive product ecosystem.
- Champion the user and the craft, advocating for excellence in visual and interaction design, accessibility, and usability.
What We're Looking For
- 16+ years in product design, including experience leading consumer-facing digital products at scale.
- Proven experience owning clear product KPIs or outcomes, partnering with Product and Engineering to define success.
- Expertise in 0→1 and growth environments, defining strategy and executing new experiences from scratch.
- Exceptional people leadership experience managing, mentoring, and scaling design teams.
- Cross-functional influence with a strong partnership history with Product, Engineering, and Data teams.
- Ability to balance strategy and execution, setting a product vision while guiding hands-on work.
- Consumer-facing expertise demonstrated by a portfolio of elegant, engaging consumer products.
- Experience building and scaling design practices, including organizational design systems and hiring strategies.
Team & Environment
You will report to the VP of Product Design and collaborate closely with a cohort of peer Senior Directors.
